Motorcycle to Sardinia, Sicily or Greece — can it be done?
We get asked about Sardinia, Sicily, and Greece pretty regularly. Short answer: we don't transport directly to any of those destinations. Longer answer: there are solid workarounds, and we've helped plenty of riders make it happen. Sardinia is the easiest. We transport your bike to Barcelona, and from there you catch a Grimaldi Lines ferry to Porto Torres in northern Sardinia. It's an overnight crossing — you board in the evening, sleep in a cabin, and wake up in Sardinia. The ferry takes motorcycles without any hassle. From Porto Torres, the entire island is yours: the twisty roads along the eastern coast, the mountain passes of the Gennargentu, and the stunning coastline around Cala Gonone. Sicily takes a bit more planning but is absolutely doable. Option one: we transport to Barcelona, you ride down the Spanish coast, cross to the Balearics or continue along the French Riviera into Italy. Option two: we deliver to southern Spain (Málaga), and you take the ferry from there. Either way, Sicily's roads — especially around Mount Etna and the Madonie mountains — are worth the extra effort. Greece is where it gets interesting. We transport to Saranda in Albania, which sits right on the Greek border. Saranda to the Kakavia border crossing is about an hour. From there, you're in Ioannina (Greece) in another hour, and the whole of mainland Greece opens up. Or head to Igoumenitsa — the ferry port with boats to Corfu (90 minutes) and other Ionian islands. You can literally see Corfu from Saranda's waterfront. It's that close. The Albania route is our newest service, and riders heading to Greece have been some of the first to use it. You get Albania as a bonus — the Albanian Riviera between Saranda and Vlorë is one of Europe's best-kept secrets, with empty coastal roads, cheap fuel, and zero tourist crowds.
How to reach the islands
We don't go directly to the islands, but we're happy to help you plan the route. We'll transport your bike to Barcelona or Málaga and advise on ferries. Or use our new Albania destination Saranda as a base for trips into Greece. If you're interested in a non-standard route, get in touch. We always try to find a solution.
